What Causes Heart Attack?
A heart attack is a medical emergency. A heart attack usually occurs when a blood clot blocks blood flow to the heart. Without blood, tissue loses oxygen and dies. Symptoms include tightness or pain in the chest, neck, back or arms, as well as fatigue, lightheadedness, abnormal heartbeat and anxiety. Women are more likely to have atypical symptoms than men. Treatment ranges from lifestyle changes and cardiac rehabilitation to medication, stents and bypass surgery.

Basic First Aid Tips for Common Injuries and Emergencies
First Aid Tips (General Safety Guidelines)
- Head, Neck, and Spinal Injuries: If someone injures their head, neck, or back, do not move them. Movement could make the injury worse. Call for emergency help immediately.
- Fractures (Broken Bones): If a bone is broken, keep the injured area still and support it with a cloth or a splint. Do not try to straighten the bone. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
- Fever: If someone has a fever, help them rest, drink water, and wear light clothes. If the fever is high, place a cool cloth on their forehead.
- Fainting: If someone faints, have them lie down and raise their legs to help blood flow to the brain. Loosen tight clothing and make sure they get fresh air.
- Eye Injuries: If something gets into the eye, gently rinse it with clean water. Do not rub the eye. If the injury is severe, seek medical help.
- Nosebleeds: If someone has a nosebleed, have them lean forward and pinch the soft part of their nose for 5-10 minutes. Don’t let them lean backward.
- Dental Injury: If a tooth is knocked out, place it in milk or saliva and get to a dentist as soon as possible. If a tooth is broken, rinse the mouth with water.
- Choking: If someone is choking, encourage them to cough. If they can’t breathe, stand behind them, wrap your arms around their waist, and perform the Heimlich maneuver (abdominal thrusts).
- Burns: To treat a burn, cool the area with cold water for at least 10 minutes. Don’t use ice or ointments. Cover the burn with a clean cloth.
- Breathing Problems: If someone is having trouble breathing, help them sit up straight and stay calm. If they have an inhaler, assist them in using it. Seek emergency help if needed.
- Bleeding: Apply pressure to a wound with a clean cloth to stop the bleeding. Continue pressing until the bleeding stops. If the bleeding is severe, call for medical help immediately.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): If someone stops breathing or their heart stops, begin CPR by pressing firmly on the chest until help arrives.
- Allergic Reactions: If someone is having a severe allergic reaction and has an epinephrine injector (EpiPen), help them use it. Call emergency services for further help.
- Seizures: If someone has a seizure, move objects away from them to prevent injury. Do not try to hold them down. Place them on their side and wait for the seizure to stop.
- Poisoning: If someone has ingested a poisonous substance, contact a poison control center or a healthcare provider immediately. Do not try to make them vomit unless instructed by professionals.
- Stroke: If someone shows signs of a stroke (weakness on one side, difficulty speaking, or a drooping face), call for emergency medical assistance immediately. Time is critical.
- Insect Bites: Clean the bite area with soap and water, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. If they have trouble breathing, seek medical help.
- Heart Attack: If someone is experiencing chest pain, help them stay calm and sit down. Call for emergency help immediately. If the person becomes unresponsive, begin CPR.
- Heat Stroke: If someone has heat stroke, move them to a cooler area, provide water, and apply a cool, damp cloth to their skin. Seek medical help if the person’s condition doesn’t improve.
- Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): If someone feels weak, shaky, or dizzy, give them a drink or snack with sugar. If their condition does not improve in 10 minutes, seek medical help.
- Hyperglycemia (High Blood Sugar): If someone is very thirsty, tired, or frequently urinating, help them rest and drink water. If their condition worsens, seek medical attention.

إذا أُغمِي على شخص، اجعله يستلقي وارفع ساقيه لمساعدة تدفق الدم إلى الدماغ. قم بفك أي ملابس ضيقة وتأكد من وجود هواء نقي. - إصابات العين:
إذا دخل جسم غريب في العين، اشطفها بلطف بالماء النظيف. لا تفرك العين. إذا كانت الإصابة خطيرة، اطلب المساعدة الطبية. - الرعاف (نزيف الأنف):
اجعل الشخص يميل للأمام واضغط على الجزء اللين من الأنف أعلى فتحتي الأنف لمدة 5-10 دقائق. لا تتركه يُميل رأسه للخلف. - إصابة الأسنان:
إذا سقط سن، ضعه في الحليب أو اللعاب واذهب إلى طبيب الأسنان بسرعة. إذا كان السن مكسورًا، قم بغسل الفم بالماء. - الاختناق:
إذا كان الشخص يختنق، شجعه على السعال. إذا لم يستطع التنفس، قف خلفه، لف ذراعيك حول خصره، واضغط بقوة فوق السرة (مناورة هيمليك). - الحروق:
للحد من الحرق، برّد المنطقة بماء بارد لمدة 10 دقائق على الأقل. لا تستخدم الثلج أو المراهم. غطِّ الحرق بقطعة قماش نظيفة. - مشاكل التنفس:
إذا كان الشخص يعاني من صعوبة في التنفس، ساعده على الجلوس بشكل مستقيم وابقَ هادئًا. إذا كان لديه جهاز استنشاق، ساعده على استخدامه. اتصل بالإسعاف إذا لم تتحسن حالته. - النزيف:
اضغط بقطعة قماش نظيفة على الجرح لوقف النزيف. استمر في الضغط حتى يتوقف النزيف. إذا كان النزيف شديدًا، اطلب المساعدة فورًا. - دعم الحياة الأساسي (BLS):
إذا توقف الشخص عن التنفس أو نبض قلبه، ابدأ بالإنعاش القلبي الرئوي (CPR) عبر الضغط بقوة وسرعة في منتصف صدره حتى تصل المساعدة. - الحساسية:

إذا عانى شخص فجأة من صعوبة في تحريك جزء من جسمه أو الكلام أو ظهر عليه ارتخاء في الوجه، اطلب الإسعاف على الفور. كل ثانية مهمة. - لدغة الحشرات:
نظّف مكان اللدغة بالماء والصابون. ضع كمادة باردة لتقليل التورم. إذا واجه صعوبة في التنفس، اطلب المساعدة. - النوبة القلبية:
إذا شعر شخص بألم في صدره، ساعده على الجلوس، وابقَ بجانبه ليظل هادئًا، واتصل بالإسعاف فورًا. - ضربة الشمس:
إذا أصيب شخص بضربة شمس، انقله إلى مكان بارد، قدّم له الماء، وبلّل بشرته بقطعة قماش مبللة. اطلب المساعدة إذا لم تتحسن حالته. - نقص السكر في الدم (Hypoglycemia):
إذا شعر الشخص بالضعف أو الارتجاف أو الدوخة، أعطه مشروبًا أو وجبة خفيفة تحتوي على السكر. إذا لم يتحسن خلال 10 دقائق، اطلب المساعدة. - ارتفاع السكر في الدم (Hyperglycemia):
إذا كان الشخص يشعر بالعطش الشديد، أو التعب، أو كثرة التبول، ساعده على الراحة وقدم له الماء. اطلب المساعدة الطبية عند الضرورة.
